Reserve Your Hunt
Texas Hunt Lodge will you put you on a Mouflon Ram you'll want to hang on your wall and enjoy for years to come. We have the very best selection of Pure European Mouflon Sheep and Mouflon Hybrids to be found anywhere in the world. There are no seasonal restrictions on hunting the Mouflon Sheep in Texas, which makes it a suitable trophy year round.

We typically let our hunters choose the method of hunting Trophy Mouflon Ram that they prefer. Hunters of Trophy Mouflon Sheep can choose the Spot and Stalk method, Bow Hunting, Rifle Hunting, Black Powder, Safari Style Hunting, Handgun, as well as hunting from a Blind. We can accommodate hunters of any age and experience level, as well as hunters which have physical disabilities or may be confined to a wheelchair.

Our Pure Mouflon Sheep are not hybridized...their horns have an arch to them whereas the Hybrid Mouflon have a tighter continuous curl to them. The Mouflon Rams that we hunt could range in the 32+ inch range. In addition to the Mouflon Ram, we also have other sheep of the Corsican Sheep family including the Texas Dall Sheep, the Painted Desert Sheep, and the Black Hawaiian Sheep.

The Mouflon is thought to be one of the two ancestors for all modern domestic sheep breeds.  The Mouflon is a colorful sheep with coarse hair hiding a wooly undercoat. Texas Mouflon's are usually brown with black and white legs while the ears, nose, belly and rump are white.  The older males will turn black with a white saddle patch.

The males and females have horns, but those of the males are larger. The curved, spiral horns are usually around 25 inches in length and are arch back over its head. The Mouflon's horns don't flare out at the end as most wild sheep's do. The size of a male Mouflon’s horns determines his status in the group.  They will drink twice daily when hot, otherwise irregularly. They are very aggressive around each other yet they are gregarious. They breed from October to December with a gestation of 5 months.

Since the 1980s, Mouflon sheep have been successfully introduced into game ranches in North America, most commonly Texas for the purpose of hunting.  It is rare to find a pure bred Mouflon on these ranches as they generally interbreed with the Corsican sheep.

At Texas Hunt Lodge you can hunt European and Armenian Mouflon, as well as any or all of the exotic Corsican Sheep.
