Eland Hunting

Reserve Your Hunt
Texas Hunt Lodge allows the opportunity to hunt and harvest the rare Livingston Eland and Common Eland. Year round, we offer hunts for big Trophy Eland. There are no seasonal restrictions on hunting the Common Eland or Livingston Eland in Texas, which makes it a suitable trophy year round.

We typically let our hunters choose the method of hunting Trophy Eland that they prefer. Hunters of Trophy Eland can choose the Spot and Stalk method, Bow Hunting, Rifle Hunting, Black Powder, Safari Style Hunting, Handgun, as well as hunting from a Blind. We can accommodate hunters of any age and experience level, as well as hunters which have physical disabilities or may be confined to a wheelchair.

We have taken (2) new World Record Eland in the past years. The Eland Bulls that we hunt typically have horns in the 30 to 35-inch range and weigh over 1000 lbs.

Livingston Eland have white strips on their body, where as the Common Eland do not...we typically have both available on our ranches.

Eland Trophy Fees

The Eland (Taurotragus oryx), also known as the Southern Eland or Common Eland, is an Antelope native to South Africa which can now be hunted in Texas with Texas Hunt Lodge. The Eland Antelope is a large antelope (male’s average 1,100 lbs and females 700lbs) with smooth horns that twist near the base.  The horns are found in both males and females and average in 24 inches in length, with a maximum of 43 1/2 inches.

The Eland diet consists of mostly grass, and they flourish in the Texas Hill Country environment.  The Eland are gregarious and very gentle for a wild animal.  They tend to breed year-round in the United States and their Gestation Period is 8 1/2 months.

The Eland antelope male reach sexual maturity at 18 months and the female at 15 - 24 months depending on how well nourished they are.
