Common Waterbuck
The Common Waterbuck (Kobus ellipsiprymnus ellipsiprymnus), native to Africa, can be hunted year round in Texas. The Waterbuck is a large, shaggy, gray and brown antelope with a white ring around it's rump. The Common Waterbuck males have heavy ringed horns shaped like a crescent. The Waterbuck's horns typically range 20 inches long and upwards of 28-30 inches in giant trophy Waterbuck. View our Common Waterbuck Hunt Packages! The Waterbuck will drink at least twice daily, in the morning and late afternoon...in fact, they drink more than a West Texas Cow does in a day. Rutting Waterbuck males are very aggressive...they may even fight males of other species and kill them. They will easily hybridize with Defassa Waterbuck and possibly even with Lechwe. |
